Call security, festival-obsessed freak, banned from the readings – I might have heard these words bandied about in association with my name. But then someone over at THIN AIR headquarters realized it was a losing battle so they might as well enlist the festival crazies as bloggers.
So here I am, after a long session of rolling around (nude of course) in books by the likes of Alice Kuipers, Shauna Singh Baldwin, Lawrence Hill – preparing for my role and hoping a bit of literary brilliance from this year’s attendees just might rub off.
Not only is security not going to remove me again this year, they want me to blog about my festival experiences.
So, when I’m not in the hospitality suite licking salt off the chips I shall hit the festival events – the Nooners, the Afternoon book Chats and the Mainstage events and bring all the gruesome highlights.
Entirely against my will, I’ve even agreed to visit the After Words venue, CYRK, to drink wine and report on late night festival activities.
If you do happen to see security hauling me away – again, try not to chuck books at me. See you at the festival!
